Command Prompt is a feature of Microsoft Window operation system that provides an entry point for a Array or CLI. A CLI is used whenever a large vocabulary of commands or queries, coupled with a wide (or arbitrary) range of options, can be entered more rapidly as text than with a pure GUI.
A simple CLI displays a prompt, accept a "command line" typed by the user terminated by the Enter key, then execute the specified command and provide textual display of results or error messages.
In the Windows XP/Vista the Command Prompt can be started by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking Command Prompt.
Alternatively, the Command Prompt can be started by pressing WinKey+R, typing cmd in the "Open:" field and clicking Ok.
